Leistiko (Van Blaricom-Salvey), who died July 8, 2006 of vascular disease at the age of 77. Following the Memorial Service, a Celebration of her Life will be held at Lakeside Gardens, 16211 S.E. Foster Road, Portland, OR 97236. Marie was born on March 9, 1929 and was the youngest of Clyde Van Blaricom and Nellie Nutter's eight children, Nita Galloway (deceased), Eva Hanson, Walnut Creek, CA, Cle Van Blaricom, Medford, OR, Ella Sutherland (deceased), Sherben Van Blaricom (deceased), Ervin Van Blaricom, Joseph, OR and Betty Carter, Portland, OR. Marie grew up in Portland, OR; she attended Gilbert Grade School and was a graduate of Franklin High School. She married Donald M. Salvey on August 21, 1949 and they had two children, Danny R. (deceased) and Patty Sue. Marie worked as a bookkeeper/secretary for a produce company and later for a construction company. In 1963, Don's work took the family to Osaka, Japan, where they lived for over a year. In 1970, the family moved to Molokai, Hawaii, where both Don and Danny worked. Marie and Don were married until his death on October 11, 1992. She was blessed to have Wally "Fuzzy" Leistiko come back into her life in 1996. Marie and Wally were sweethearts before they met and married their respective spouses. Marie and Wally married on February 8, 1999. Together they enjoyed many trips in their RV. They had the best of both worlds; they spent the winter months in the Yuma, AZ sunshine and the summer months at their home in Pacific City, OR. She will be missed more than words can say by her husband, her sisters Betty and Eva; her brothers Cle and Ervin; her daughter Patty Salvey-Sunde, son-in-law Michael Sunde, step-children Debbie Leistiko (Duane Wolken), Jo Anne Thompson, and Steve Leistiko (Mary Riehl); her grandchildren Liz and Travis Sunde, Nicki, Randy, Ryan, Tracy (deceased), Kelly, Jason and Holly; her great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
