| Overlijdensbericht | Betty Jean Carter, 97, of Pacific Gardens in Portland, Oregon, passed away December 24, 2022. She was born in Portland, Oregon on August 6, 1925. Betty Van Blaricom graduated from Franklin High School. One of eight children, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Eve, Cle, Ervin, Ella, Nita, Marie, and Sherben. She was married to Thomas Vincent Carter on November 10, 1951. The two were married until his passing in 1997. Betty worked as a secretary for John Deere, C & R Products, and US Bank. She was a Deacon and longtime member of Savage Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she was a parishioner for over sixty years. Betty loved taking care of her rose garden. She will be remembered for her positive and upbeat attitude. She had a great sense of humor and was adored by her family. Betty loved her family, both immediate and extended, and they were everything to her. She is survived by her son, Thomas Allen (Susan) Carter of Highland, Utah, and their children: Thomas C. Carter, Juli Brown, and Michael A. Carter; and her son, Christopher Scott (Diane) Carter of West Linn, Oregon, and their children Logan V. Carter and Braeden H. Carter. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, all of which she adored. | |
