| Overlijdensbericht | Friends of Lucien R. Van Blaricum, 57, may call at Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Road at Meadowlark Lane from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of Vista Verde at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. David Ring, pastor of the Paradise Hills United Methodist Church, of which Lucien was a member, officiating. Burial will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the New Mexico Symphony in his name. Van Blaricum, a resident of Albuquerque and Corrales since 1962, died Sunday. He was born March 29, 1936, in Columbus, Ind., the son of Lucien Rule and Pearlie Opal Stringer Van Blaricum. He served in the U.S. Air Force from May 1954 until December 1957 and then the Air Force Reserve until May 1962. He married Delores Mae "Dee" Baker on Nov. 27, 1959. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in electrical engineering in 1962 and received an master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of New Mexico in 1964. He was proud to have served his country in electrical design with Sandia National Labs for 30½ years. He is survived by his wife of 33½ years, "Dee"; one sister, Margaret Hiam of Nashville; three brothers, Clinton Van Blaricum of Butte, Mont., Robert Vincent Lawson of Pikton, Ohio, and Wayne E. Wilhelm of El Campo, Texas; a niece, Rene Lummer of Chicago and other special nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Annis M. Baker and brother-in-law, Forrest Baker, both of New Salsbury, Ind.. Overlijdensbericht | Delores "Dee" Van Blaricum, age 61, a resident of Albuquerque and Corrales since 1962, passed away with her family in New Salisbury, IN. Delores was born on February 3, 1939 in Harrison County, IN the daughter of Glenn and Annis Engleman Baker. Dee graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1957 then attended Indiana University. Dee received an accounting degree from Indiana Business School in Lafayette, IN. Delores was married to Lucien Van Blaricum on November 27, 1959 until his death on April 18, 1993. Delores worked for several years in accounting at the University of New Mexico. Dee volunteered for 18 years for the American Cancer Society and received several awards including the Teresa Lasser Award for outstanding work in Reach to Recovery. Dee also volunteered at the St. Joseph West Mesa Hospital. Delores had an avid interest in nature and particularly loved horseback riding in the Pecos wilderness. Dee also enjoyed attending the New Mexico Symphony. Delores is survived by her mother, Annis Baker, brother, Forrest Baker and his wife, Judy and their five children in Indiana, also a special niece, Rene Lummer and her husband, and two children in Santa Rosa, CA. The visitation for Delores will be on Wednesday, December 13, 2000 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the service at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with Rev. David Snyman officiating. interment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Those who wish may direct memorials to the American Cancer Society or the New Mexico symphony. |
