Overlijdensbericht | DONALD OAKLEY VAN BLARCOM Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather passed away February 2, 2017 at his home in Riverside, CA with his loved ones by his side, after a year long battle with colon cancer. Don was born in Patterson, New Jersey to William and Frances Van Blarcom, and came to California at the age of 15 yrs. Don graduated from Corona High School in 1949. Don served in the U.S. Navy for 4 yrs. and then on to Chaffey Jr. College, RCC and UCR. Don worked for Hunter Douglas, Alcan and Alumax for 40 yrs. as a Mechanical Engineer. Don was responsible for the first wood grain embossed design for aluminum siding at Alcan in Riverside. Don is survived by his wife of 62 yrs. Carm Van Blarcom; his two daughters Misty LaRue and Tracy Moss; one son Mark Van Blarcom and his wife Melissa. Don also has 5 grandchildren Bryan Moss and wife Melinda, Micaela and Miles Van Blarcom and Misty Liz and Charles LaRue; and 3 great grandchildren Emma, Amy, and Levi Moss. Don has one brother Robert Van Blarcom and his wife Joyce. The family wishes to thank Cambridge Hospice and staff for 10 months of outstanding support.
