Overlijdensbericht | Elvin L. Van Blaricon, 72, of Jerome died Saturday, Dec. 2, 1995, at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital. He was born April 7, 1923, in Cincinnati, the son of George and Lena (Veach) Van Blaricon. He was married to Betty Tharp Nov. 9, 1947, in Centerville. She preceded him in death August 1977. Survivors include two sons, Rick and Brian, of Jerome; three daughters, Vicky Stephens and her husband, Michael, of Centerville, Shelia Kratofil and her husband, Sonny, of Mystic and Denise Van Blaricon of Jerome; four brothers, Jim, Dick and Larry of Davenport and Genie of Connecticut; four sisters, Stella Murphy of Phoenix, Ariz., Loretta Noel of Centerville and Clara Zemo and Judy Sharp of Bettendorf; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Warren; and a brother, Bob. He was a coal miner. He served in the Army during World War II. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the Lange Funeral Home with burial in the Jerome Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today, Monday.
