| Overlijdensbericht | Noel Florence Holden, 70, of Backus, Minn., died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, at her home, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born Aug. 25, 1936, in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho, to Lewis and Martha (Rice) Van Blaricom. She graduated from Backus High School in 1954 and married Marvin "Bun" Holden the same year. They lived in Deerfield Township most of their married lives. She was a longtime member of the Church of the Nazarene in Backus, Deerfield Township Board (30 years), Community Ladies' Aid (more than 40 years), Cass County Fair Board (26 years), the Backus American Legion Auxiliary and the county Homemakers' Club. For more than 30 years, she baked and decorated cakes for all occasions. She loved to read, garden and feed the birds.
She was preceded in death by her father; her husband and one brother, Charles (Buzz).
Funeral services were held Feb. 2 at the Church of the Nazarene in Backus, with Pastor Greg Baker officiating. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery in Backus. | |
