| Overlijdensbericht | John "Corky", 83, of Clifton, passed away on December 22, 2011 at home with his family at his side. Born in Passaic, Corky lived in Clifton for all of his life. Before his retirement, he was employed with the City of Clifton Police Department as a Detective. After retirement, Corky did security work with Styretown Shopping Center Rowe-Manse Emporium in Clifton. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War era. Corky was a parishioner of St. Paul R.C. Church in Clifton. For many years, he participated in the St. Francis Bowling League. He was a member of the American Legion Post #8 of Clifton. Corky held many leadership positions in PBA Local #36 of Clifton. In 1970, the Clifton Jaycees named him Policeman of the Year. He was predeceased by his devoted mother, Consuela Van Blarcom and his brother, Raymond Van Blarcom. Survivors include: his beloved wife of 59 years, Rosemary (nee Flick) Van Blarcom; two devoted daughters, Lori Huk of Clifton and Diane Zilinek and her husband, Thomas of Center Valley, PA; his devoted son, John R. Van Blarcom and his wife, Laura of Clifton; four loving grandchildren, Michael and Shayne Huk and Taylor and Devon Zilinek; and his dear great-grandson, Evan Huk. Funeral services will be Tuesday 9:15 AM from the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton and 10 AM at St. Paul R.C. Church, 231 Second St., Clifton. Cremation to follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson. Visiting will be Monday from 3 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PBA Local #36, Inc., P.O. Overlijdensbericht | Rosemary C. (nee Flick), 85, of Clifton, passed away on November 8, 2015. Born in Passaic, Mrs. Van Blarcom was a lifelong resident of Clifton. Before her retirement, she was a crossing guard for the City of Clifton for 25 years at the corner of Main Ave. and Washington Ave. by Saint Paul School. Mrs. Van Blarcom was an active and faithful parishioner of St. Paul R.C. Church in Clifton where she was a contributing member of the Rosary Society. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John "Corky" Van Blarcom. Survivors include: her children, John of Clifton, Lori Huk of Clifton and Diane Zilinek of Center Valley, PA; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In keeping with Rosemary's wishes, a Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday 10 am at St. Paul R.C. Church, 124 Union Ave., Clifton, NJ 07011. Cremation was private.
