Overlijdensbericht | Dorothy Van Blargan Sept. 17, 2010 Dorothy Van Blargan of West Hazleton, passed away Friday evening in Hazleton General Hospital after a short illness. She was born in West Hazleton, the daughter of the late John and Anna Walsh Conahan and was a lifetime resident of the area. Dorothy was a graduate of St. Gabriel High School. She was employed by Genetti Markets for 30 years. She was also owner of the former Hazle Oil gas station. She was a lifetime member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, West Hazleton and the Altar and Rosary Society of the parish. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Van Blargan, in 1970; a grandson, Kevin, in 2000; two brothers, John and Patrick Conahan. Dorothy is survived by her loving and devoted son, Cletus Van Blargan Jr and wife, Jane, Hazleton; and her grandchildren, the joys of her life, Brian Van Blargan and wife, Carrie; Molly Billig and husband, Keith; great-grandchildren, Luke Billig and Kali Van Blargan; and family friend, Jean Dougherty. Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished her family. Nana will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, West Hazleton. The Rev Con-nell McHugh will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Drums.
