Obituary | Herschel Knotts, 59, a former Farmers Marketing employe, died about 4 a.m. today at his home, 2201 Fifth street. He had been ill four years. Mr. Knotts had worked in the creamery division of the Marketing association for 18 years until ill health forced him to retire in 1960. He belonged to the East Columbus Church of Christ. He was born in Bartholomew county Sept. 27, 1905, to George and Mary Sanford Knotts and married Miss Medora VanBlaricum May 26, 1929. Surviving with her are a son, Herschel, Jr., at home; three daughters, Miss Marilyn Knotts and Mrs. Mary Stevenson, both of 401 Pence street, and Mrs. Louie L. Jackson of Fort Monmouth, N.J.; three sisters, Mrs. Car Lacy of 815 Third street, Mrs. Herbert Hodge of 481 Pence street and Mrs. Charles Sanders of 372 Pence street, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Barkes and Inlow funeral home with burial at Garland Brook cemetery. The Rev. H. Porter Wynn, minister of the East Columbus Church of Christ, will conduct the rites. Persons may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. |
