| Obituary | Services for Gilbert F. VanBlarcom, 78, a retired textile engineer, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Rd. Mr. VanBlarcom, who lived at 4800 N. 68th St., died Thursday at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. He came to Scottsdale in 1969 from Tiverton, R.I, and was a World War I veteran. Entombment will be in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. Mr. VanBlarcom is survived by two daughters, Edith Barrowclough and Nancy Jenkins, both of Massachusetts; a brother, out of state, seven grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.Scottsdale Progress, August 13, 1977 |

Obituary | Gladys A. Van Blarcom, 77, a Scottsdale resident for six years, died Jan. 13th aboard the S.S. Santa Marina off Buenos Aires, Argentina. Mrs. Van Blarcom, a native of Massachusetts, was a member of the Western Greeters and the Arizona Boys Community Club. She resided at 4800 N. 68th St. Survivors include her husband, Gilbert; daughters, Edith Barrowclough and Nancy Jenkins both of Massachusetts; brothers, Stewart McCowan of Staten Island, N.Y., Milton D. McCowan of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Rd., with entombment in the Green Acres Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Arizona Lung Association, 1239 E. McDowell Rd., Phoenix. |
