| Obituary | Dorothy F. Knelly, 91, of Weston, passed away Wednesday evening at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born in Nuremberg, January 20, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mabel (Horton) Van Blargan and resided in Weston for the past 64 years after moving from Nuremberg. She was a member of Emmanuel UCC Church, Nuremberg. Dorothy was a 1940 graduate of Nuremberg High School and Redstone Beauty Academy in 1941. Prior to her retirement, she was a cafeteria manager the Hazleton Area School District, having worked in the Sheppton and Rock Glen schools. She was a member of the East Union Township Senior Citizens and enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing plastic canvas, and playing Pinochle. She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband Calvin C. Knelly, who passed away July 1, 2009, brothers Robert and Lloyd Van Blargan; and sisters Valma Novatnak, Hazle Paris, Millicent Tempest, and Alice Van Blargan. Surviving are three sons, David and his wife Phyllis, Nuremberg; Lance and his wife Carol, Sugarloaf; Thomas and his wife Lorraine, Weston; five grandchildren, Cindee Michael and her husband Richard, Nuremberg; Brenda Knelly, Nuremberg; Lance Knelly and his wife Jennifer, Bethlehem; Cheri Lutzick and her husband Robert, Weatherly; and Amy Bolinsky and her husband Marc, Bloomsburg; seven great-grandchildren, Richard and Ryan Michael; Austin Knelly, Krista Lutzick, Kaitlyn and Kaylee Bolinsky, and Christopher Knelly; and two step great-grandchildren, Robert and Carla Lutzick. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Emmanuel UCC Church, Nuremberg, with her pastor, the Rev. Louis Aita officiating. Burial will follow in Nuremberg Cemetery.
