| Obituary | Jean May Plettner, 87, of Coldwater, passed onto her heavenly home Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Quincy Cottage in Quincy, MI. She was born March 22, 1932 in Coldwater to George and Laura Genevieve (Burns) VanBlarcom. Jean married LeRoy Plettner in 1999 and he survives. She graduated from Coldwater High school in 1950 and in 1952 she married her first husband, Jack D. Davis who preceded her in death in 2011. Jean was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and wife with a caring, loving heart that loved the Lord and the people around her. She was very active in church; Jean served the Lord as the women’s bible study leader and taught children’s bible classes. Her favorite bible verse was Proverbs 17:22 “A merry heart does good like a medicine, but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” She was known for her great sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. Jean loved to travel, shop, cook, show hospitality and be with her family; Jean was also an identical twin and they could be a double blessing, or double trouble. In addition to her husband, LeRoy, survivors include one daughter, Diana Johnston of Coldwater; one twin sister, Joan Twite of Coldwater; one brother, Jerry (Letha) VanBlarcom of Coldwater; two grandchildren, Luke N. Bovee and Laura Jean (Anthony) Fleming both of Coldwater; and three great-grandchildren, Royale, Israel, and Lemuel. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Jack, and two brothers, Lynwood and Stanley VanBlarcom. In accordance to Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11 AM at the World Harvest Assembly Church on US-12 in Quincy, MI with Pastor Darrin Brown officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family to be donated to Jean’s favorite mission outreach in Costa Rica. | |
