| Obituary | DAVENPORT - There will be a time of gathering at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Blue Grass American Legion Hall, Blue Grass, Iowa, for Larry VanBlaricome, 71, of Davenport. The family request casual wear. Cremation rites have been accorded. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Larry passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2010, at his home in Davenport. Larry William VanBlaricome was born on March 22, 1939 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of George and Lena (Veach) VanBlaricome. He married Ann "Kathy" Anderson on February 5, 1966, in Unionville, Mo. Larry worked as an electrician and at LaFarge Cement until retiring in 1991. Larry enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Kathy, of Davenport; sons, Joe (Dawn) Scott, of Buffalo, Rex Scott, of East Moline, and Mike VanBlaricome and Jeff VanBlaricome, both of LaCrosse,Wis.; daughters, Tammy (Brian) McGreer, of Illinois City, Carrie (Mark) Hoeke, of West Liberty, Iowa, Kathy VanBlaricome and Tracy Fry, both of Muscatine, Karen (Danny) Dipple, of Phoenix, Lena Haines, of Davenport, Tara (Eric) Bruce, of Blue Grass, Joleen (Brad) Carpenter, of Erie, Ill., and Tamara VanBlaricome, of Streator, Ill.; 40 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gene VanBlaricome, of Connecticut, and Dick VanBlaricome, of Davenport; and sisters, Clara Zemo, of LeClaire, and Reta Noel, of Centerville. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, a granddaughter, sisters, Dorothy Warren, Judy Sharp, and Stella Murphy, and brothers, Bob VanBlaricome, Pete VanBlaricome, and Jim VanBlaricome. |
