| Obituary | Nancy E. Young, age 81 of Plymouth, IN passed away in her home on Dec. 28, 2021. Nancy was born on Dec. 9, 1940 to Theodore and Esther (Sutherland) Van Blaricom in Ply- mouth, IN. She graduated from Plymouth High School and worked at the Plymouth bus station and laundromat. She married Gus Young who preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 2020. She also enjoyed being a homemaker and in her spare time she liked to visit antique stores, yard sales, and flea markets. She was also fond of word searches, coloring and sewing. Nancy is survived by her son, Brian Young and his significant other, Carol Payne of Plymouth, IN; her sisters: Bonnie Jernstrom of Plymouth, IN; Donna Shively of South Bend, IN; Carolyn Staner of Culver, IN; her grandchildren: Samantha (partner Taylor) Young; Dakota Young of Plymouth, IN; Jessie Young of Ober, IN; Katlyn Young of Ober, IN; Sasha Young of Ober, IN; and several nieces and nephews. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Gus; her parents; her sister, Eldora Mann; and her brothers, David Van Blaricom and Raymond Van Blaricom. Obituary | Gus Young, 85, of Plymouth, passed away at Memorial Hospital of South Bend on Feb. 13, at 3:40 a.m. Gus was born on Feb. 10, 1935 in Hazard, Ky., but was a long-time resident of Marshall County. He was married to Nancy Van Blaricom. Gus worked in the field of construction until he retired, and was a member of the Laborer's Union 645. During his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the Grand Old Opry. Gus proudly served his country as part of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy, sons Bryan and Jewels Young. Also surviving are five grandchildren. Sisters Dorothy and Jane also survive, along with several nieces and nephews, who live in Pennsylvania. Preceding him in death are his parents, and brother Junior Young. A one-hour celebration of life will be held on Feb. 29, from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.
