Obituary | SAWATSKE, Stanley Peter (Stan) January, 22, 1932 – Regina, Saskatchewan June 5, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta. Stan passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2017 at the age of 85 years. Stan was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on January 22, 1932 to Peter and Ann (Pryznyk) Sawatske. At 21 years of age he was the youngest master plumber in Canada. In 1952, Stan married Elda Van Blaricom and together raised two children Margaret Anne and James Robert. In 1963 they moved to Calgary and Stan moved on to the oil and gas sector as a Landman. They were avid campers and they were founding members of Good Samaritans Camping Group. He was a talented painter and took great pleasure to commission work for his family and friends. Stan leaves behind to cherish his memory by his daughter Margaret (Jim Olafson), son Jim (Diane); five grandchildren Rob Livingston (Jodi), Brett Livingston (Erin), Stuart Livingston, Krysta (Agye Badu-Acheampong) and Katie Sawatske; six great-grandchildren Ethan and Tayah, Dylan, Blake and Hayden, Kingsley; brother John (Audrey) Sawatske, sister Betty (Jack) Tomchuk, sister-in-law Vivian Van Blaricom. Stan was predeceased by his wife of sixty years Elda (2012) and sister Roberta. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Saturday June 10, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. Reception to follow at the Funeral Home.
