| Obituary | Alpha Loretta Noel, age 82 of Centerville, passed away, Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Golden Age Care Center in Centerville. She was born in Centerville, Iowa on October 13, 1934, the daughter of George and Lena (Veach) VanBlaricome. She was united in marriage to Jack Phillip Noel on January 29, 1952 in Kirksville, Missouri. From this union, six children were born, Janet Christine, Kimberly Shawn, Kelly Dawn, Belinda Fawn, Phillip Blake, and Tyler Scott. Loretta worked for Indian Hills Community College in Centerville for a few years, and enjoyed it very much. She also loved volunteering for Angels Hands in Centerville for many years. She was fond of sewing, quilting, cooking, auctioning, as well as looking after her family members, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. Most importantly, she was a dedicated housewife and mother. She is survived by her children, Janet Christine Noel-Howard of Des Moines, Kimberly Shawn (Lance) Saunders of Centerville, Kelly Dawn Anderson of Centerville, Belinda Fawn (Randy) Noel of Des Moines, and Tyler Scott (Colleen) Noel of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; her sister Clara Zemo of LeClaire; fifteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Phillip Noel; her son, Phillip Blake Noel; and ten siblings, Lucille, Bob, Dorothy, Pete, Jim, Gene, Stella, Larry, Dick, and Judy. According to her wishes, Loretta will be cremated. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Memorials have been established to the family of Alpha Loretta Noel, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544. |
