Obituary | Heather (Van Blarcom) Gumuchian, 45, died peacefully in Mass General Hospital on July 13, 2012, following a hard fought fifteen-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on April 25, 1967, daughter of John and Jeannette (Battit) Van Blarcom in Stowe. She grew up in Stowe and graduated as valedictorian of her class of 1984. Heather earned a BA degree from Dartmouth College in 1988. She later received an MS in accounting, and an MBA from Northeastern University. She was employed by Deloitte and Touche as a CPA. Besides her parents, Heather is survived by her husband, Gary, and their children, Gordon and Calista Gumuchian, all of Littleton; brother, Ian Van Blarcom, his wife, Sarah, and their daughter, Emma, of Chelmsford, Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to "The Heather Van Blarcom Gumuchian Endowment Fund" at the Congregational Church of Littleton, 330 King St., MA 01460. She was born in Stowe Vermont, on April 25, 1967 daughter of John and Jeannette (Battit) Van Blarcom, of Stowe, VT. She grew up in Stowe and graduated valedictorian of Stowe High School Class of 1984. Heather earned a BA Degree from Dartmouth College in 1988, and subsequently both an MS in Accounting and M.B.A. from Northeastern University. Heather married in 2001 and made her home in Littleton since 2002. She was a long time Certified Public Accountant employed by Deloitte and Touche. As a member of the Congregational Church of Littleton, she served on the Church Finance Committee, as well as Church Auditor, Sunday School Teacher and Council Member at Large. She enjoyed church, skiing, golfing, backgammon, the theater, playing the trumpet, knitting and most of all, spending time with her children. Besides her parents, Heather is survived by her husband Gary Gumuchian of Littleton, her children, Gordon Gumuchian and Calista Gumuchian both of Littleton and her brother Ian Van Blarcom, his wife Sarah and their daughter Emma of Chelmsford. Visiting Hours will be held at Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St., Littleton on
Saturday July 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Congregational Church of Littleton, 330 King St., Littleton on Sunday July 22 at 2 pm. Burial will be private.
