Obituary | Francis W. Van Blargan Jr., 80, of Drums passed away late Monday evening at his residence in Drums following a two-year illness. Born in Hazleton on Nov. 8, 1941, he was the son of the late Francis Sr. and Rita (Knelly) Van Blargan and spent the past 36 years in Drums after moving from Sheppton. Francis was the proprietor of All Clean Janitorial Service, Drums. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam conflict from 1963 to 1966. He loved spen- ding time in nature, being with his children and grandchildren and quiet evenings at home. Surviving are his loving wife, the former Susanne Johnson; four daughters, Beth Ann Boyle and husband, Wallace; Karen Leshko and husband, Michael; Theresa Sweeney and husband, Frank; and Mary Frances Van Blargan and husband, Lou Melillo, all of Drums; two stepdaughters, Susanne Evancho, Drums; and Aileen Barcia and hus- band, Peter, Stamford, Conn.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Norman Van Blargan, Chandler, Ariz. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday.
