| Obituary | Funeral for Shelomi Van Blaricom, 72, former Marin resident, was held yesterday in Eugene, Ore., where he died Monday after a short illness. Van Blaricom was a resident of Tiburon from 1943 to 1947, and of Mill Valley from 1947 to 1959. He worked for the wholesale hardware firm of Sloss and Britain in San Francisco during his 16-year residence in Marin County. After moving to Eugene in 1959, he was employed as purchasing agent for Tillman and Booth Plumbing Co. He was outgoing president of the Willamette Valley division of the Purchasing Agents Association of Oregon. Van Blaricom had been a boy scout leader. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion. He was born in Idaho Falls, Ida. He is survived by his wife, May; two sons, Webster of Castro Valley, Alameda County, and Robert of Tiburon; two daughters, Helen Duffy of Edson, Alberta, Canada, and Janice Marie Van Blaricom of Eugene; two brothers, Raymond and Byron of Westwood, Lassen County; a sister, Ruth Dixon of Blackfoot, Ida., and four grandchildren.Independent Journal, May 4, 1967. |

Obituary | Private family services will be held for Robena "May" Van Blaricom of Eugene, who died May 7 of age-related causes. She was 88. Van Blaricom was born May 22, 1910, in Malta, Mont., to James and Auguste Battram. In 1945, she married Shelomi Van Blaricom in Mill Valley, Calif. He died in 1967. Van Blaricom moved to Eugene in 1959 from the Bay area. She worked as a receptionist at Cascade Manor for more than 20 years. Her interests included gardening and flowers, and she enjoyed helping people. Survivors include two daughters, Jan Power of Eugene and Helen Duffy of Cardston, Alberta; two sons, Robert of Tiburon, Calif., and Webster "Skip" Van Blaricom of Hayward, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
