Obituary | Dorothy R. Van Blaricom went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 26, 2006. She was born in Moscow, Idaho April 3, 1913. She was preceded in death by Lester O. Van Blaricom, her husband of 49 years, and is survived by her five children, Dorothy Van Blaricom, Allen Van Blaricom, Mary Means, Charles Van Blaricom and Donald Van Blaricom; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She had lived in Clemson since September 1941. She joined the Clemson Methodist Church in 1941, and was one of the longest-standing members. She was active in Sunday school work, teaching, and playing the piano. She was also the church secretary for many years. After she saw her five children through school, she returned to work as a member of the secretarial pool for Clemson University. She and Lester were members of the Pendleton District Rock Club and spent many enjoyable trips rock collecting. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the Clemson Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Cemetery Hill. Visitation will be held at the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, on Friday, July 28, 2006, from 6 to 8 p.m. Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons, is assisting the family with the arrangements.The Greenville News, July 28, 2006 |
