| Obituary | MISHAWAKA, IN - Harriett S. Van Blarcom, 98, residing in Mishawaka, passed away peacefully at 10:43 pm Sunday, October 28, 2018 in the Hearth at Juday Creek, Granger. She was born November 24, 1919 in Seneca, SC to the late Benjamin Clifton and Leila (Saunders) Sanders.
On March 23, 1941 in New York, Harriett married Cecil Van Blarcom, who preceded her in death on September 13, 1965. She is survived by two daughters, Annette (Phillip) Ringer of Mishawaka and Sandra (Bill) Henry of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Lyn and Eric Henry of Virginia Beach, VA, Renee (Delbert) Martin of Livingston, LA, and Ray (Jill) Ringer of Chesapeake, VA; step-grandchildren, Mike (Sheila) Ringer of Mishawaka, IN and Colleen (Larry) Caver of Atlanta, TX, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
In her younger years, Harriett attended Keyes Business College in Norfolk, VA and worked as a payroll clerk in civil service until retirement.
Funeral Services for Harriett will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Smith & Williams Funeral Home / Kempsville, 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Graveside services and burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, VA.
Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with local arrangements. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Harriett may be donated to Twin City Baptist Church, 420 E. Jefferson Blvd., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
