Obituary | Edith Evelyn VanBlaricom, age 91, of Barron, WI died Sunday, May 13th, 2018 at Barron Care & Rehabilitation. She was born September 23rd, 1926 to Walter and Sarah (Mallison) Rogers at Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. She joined the Canadian Army in 1944, where she met Seth Duane Whitcomb & they were married on November 3rd, 1945 at Angola, IN. After being discharged, the couple moved to Battle Creek, MI and they later divorced. On July 13th, 1958, Edith was married to Dale Eugene VanBlaricom at Battle Creek. In October of 1964, the couple moved to a farm near Connorsville, WI to fulfill their dream of farming. Edith liked to read, do ceramics, knit, embroider and tend to her large garden. In later years she enjoyed going to garage sales during the summer. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, daughter: Dorothy Scheitlin and brothers: Gordon and Guy Rogers. She is survived by her children: Bette (Gary) Rassbach of Prairie Farm, Harold “Bud” Whitcomb of Prairie Farm and Dixie (Michael) Grilley of Eau Claire, grandchildren: David (Peggy) and Keith (Tammy) Rassbach, Jess and Eric Van-Blaricom, Ryan and Nicholas Grilley, great grandchildren: Brittany and Megan Rassbach, Trenton Klein, Sydney, Jacob and Tyler Rassbach, Deborah, Elizabeth and Cole VanBlaricom, great great grandchildren: Mason Rassbach and baby due in August, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 18th at United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm with Rev. Tim Vettrus officiating and interment following in the West Akers Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of New Have, rural Prairie Farm. Visitation will be held for the hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron. |
