| Obituary | Frances Elizabeth Nelson, 90, Prairie Farm, Wis., died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at her home. She was born Nov. 22, 1918, to George and Ione (Conners) Van Blaircom in the Town of New Haven, Dunn County. She attended Hilson School in New Haven and graduated from Boyceville High School. Frances married Clinton Nelson on Feb. 17, 1942, in Prairie Farm. Frances and Clinton lived and worked on their farm near Prairie Farm until retiring. Frances was a dedicated member of United Lutheran Church and active in Hope Circle. Surviving are sons, John (Marlene) and Barry (Nancy), both of Prairie Farm, and Richard of Pasco, Wash.; a sister, Marjorie; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Sept. 25, 1988; a son, James; daughters, Joann Bunde and Eileen Burg; brothers, Wylie, Wayne, Maynard, Verlyne, Dale and Don; and sisters, Elva, Maxine, Vera, Opal, Shirley and Dixie. Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, from United Lutheran Church, Prairie Farm, with Rev. Shelly Schultz officiating and interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Prairie Farm. Visitation was held 4-8 p.m. Monday from Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home, Dallas, and an hour prior to services at the church Tuesday. |
